2007 Outbreak of E coli O157:H7 Linked to Group Beef, Illinois
American Foods Group, LLC, had processed ground beef that led to E. coli O157:H7 infections in 2 people in Illinois. Investigation by the Illinois Department of Public Health led to a recall of the tainted beef in November. The beef was produced on October 10 by the company and distributed to Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Virginia.
