2013 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Linked to Gort's Cheese Products
The Public Health Agency of Canada and provincial partners in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Quebec investigated an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 in 28 patients who consumed cheese products manufactured by Gort's Gouda Cheese Farm in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Illness onsets occurred between mid-July 2103 and late September 2013. Four persons were hospitalized. One person died.
