2014 Hepatitis A Linked to Rosa's Restaurant, Hamilton, New Jersey

Hamilton Township officials investigated an outbreak of hepatitis A after a food handler at Rosa's Restaurant and Catering was diagnosed with the virus. The restaurant employee became ill in late November 2014 and customers were advised to be vaccinated. On December 31, 2014 health officials were notified that Rosa's Restaurant customer who works as a hairstylist at The Hair Port Salon was diagnosed with hepatitis A. Staff and customers who visited the salon between December 4 and December 31 were advised to be vaccinated. A second case who worked as a fitness instructor at two area locations - the Hamilton Area YMCA's JKR branch and the New Jersey Athletic Club was also diagnosed with hepatitis A. She was also Rosa's customer. Anyone who visited either of the gyms between Dec. 5 and Dec. 29 were advised to be vaccinated.
