2015 Norovirus Outbreak at Cowfish Restaurant, Charlotte, NC

Mecklenburg County Health Department investigated an outbreak of norovirus among customers of Cowfish Sushi Bar and Grill in June 2015. Twenty one employees and 34 customers reported flu-like symptoms. Norovirus was confirmed as the cause of illnesses. The restaurant closed on June 6 for a thorough cleaning and reopened two days later. The restaurant was closed a second time and a professional cleaning service was brought in to sanitize the facility.
