2015 Outbreak of Salmonella Among Customers of Don Antonio's Restaurant, Los Angeles
In March 2015 the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis that occurred among dining patrons of Don Antonio's Restaurant. Meal dates occurred between March 18 and March 20, 2015. Twenty three customers were ill including 13 who were laboratory confirmed with Salmonella. One person was hospitalized. In addition to the 23 ill customers, 9 restaurant employees were laboratory confirmed with Salmonella. Investigators concluded that the source of the outbreak was likely an ill food handler.
