2018 Outbreak of Norovirus at Shedd Aquarium, Illinois
Two separate groups of visitors to the Shedd Aquarium became ill with gastroenteritis in April 2018. On April 17 about 15 kindergartners from a Chicago Catholic school became sick after visiting the Shedd Aquarium. The kindergartners did not eat at the Shedd. They only visited the exhibits at the aquarium. Ten days later about 90 Andrew High School students became ill after attending Prom at the facility on April 27. Symptoms included fever, chills and vomiting that began the next day.
