Norovirus Among Swimmers at Lake Wazee, Wisconsin, July 2012

The Jackson County Health Department in collaboration with Jackson County Forestry and Parks began an investigation of norovirus among persons who swam at Lake Wazee Beach on July 4th. As of July 11, 2012 there were at least 170 ill persons. Norovirus is suspected based on symptoms. Samples collected from several ill persons were sent to the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene for testing. Results are pending.
