Our Lady of the Wayside Church Fund-Raiser Stuffed Ham 1997

An outbreak of Salmonella Heidelburg occurred in Chaptico, Maryland, among people who attended a church fund-raising dinner. The implicated vehicle was a ham that had been stuffed with kale, cabbage, and spices. The stuffed ham had been purchased from the Chaptico Market and Deli; the deli had obtained the ham from another company. Salmonella was isolated from leftover ham.
