Eating food while visiting a retail buyers' club in Rochester, New York, was associated with an outbreak of hepatitis A. Club employees who ate sugar-glazed baked goods were found to be at fourfold risk for developing hepatitis A. The source of the outbreak was an infected baker who contaminated the baked goods while applying the sugar glaze.
