1995 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Infections Associated with Deer Meat Jerky, Oregon
Homemade venison jerky was implicated in an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections in Oregon. The same strain of E.coli O157:H7 was isolated from the people and from the jerky. Deer fecal samples were collected from nearby forest land and E. coli O157:H7 was identified in some of the samples.
