1999 Outbreak of Botulism Linked to Home Prepared Garlic in Oil, Florida
A mother and her adult daughter were hospitalized with laboratory confirmed, botulism after eating home bottled, garlic infused, oil. The daughter's husband became ill two days later. A neighbor prepared the garlic in oil for presents without acidifying it or refrigerating it.
