An outbreak of Listeriosis occurred among people who attended a birthday party in California. Illness was associated with eating precooked, sliced turkey. Stool samples from case patients and turkey samples yielded the same strain of Listeria monocytogenes serotype 1/2a; the Listeria isolates matched genetically. Clusters of suspect cases occurred at two other catered events, but no additional cases were confirmed.
