Two independent complaints, involving six people, of gastrointestinal illness were received by the Minnesota Department of Health. The complaints were associated with a restaurant in Roseville. The four people who were interviewed met the case definition. Stool samples collected from two ill persons tested positive for Norovirus. No case control study was performed so no food sources could be associated with risk of illness. The restaurant was inspected and found to have an out of service bathroom, but no other significant violations were noted. No employees were known to be ill, but there was a rumor that family members of food workers had recently had gastrointestinal illness. The source of the outbreak was not determined.
