2006 Outbreak of Norovirus at a Family Reunion, West Virginia
An outbreak of norovirus occurred among people who attended a family reunion that was held in West Virginia. Attendees came from several states. The investigation revealed a combination of person-to-person and foodborne transmission of two strains of norovirus. The norovirus was probably introduced to the reunion by attendees from different states and subsequently via chicken and scalloped potatoes brought to the reunion and shared with other attendees.
