2006 Salmonella Enteritidis Infections at Corky & Lenny's Restaurant linked to Chopped Liver and Oil, Ohio
Corky & Lenny's Restaurant in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, was the source of an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis. Multiple foods were implicated, including the restaurant's famous No. 6, "The Philadelphia", a chopped liver sandwich. Oil used by prep cooks to prepare raw matzo balls and to moisten the cooked, chopped liver was contaminated with Salmonella. A server may have contributed to the spread of the outbreak.
