In early January, employees and guests at the Washington Dulles Airport Hilton experienced gastrointestinal illness. Tests on stool samples confirmed the illnesses to be caused by a Norovirus. The hotel was forced to close for a weekend to have the entire building disinfected. The initial vehicle was not identified, but the disinfection process halted the outbreak.
