2008 Outbreak of Clostridium botulinum Linked to Seal Meat, Alaska
Two people developed Botulism after eating seal meat and oil at a private home in Alaska. The preparation of the seal was not described, but incomplete or improper fermentation of marine mammals is a common cause of botulism poisoning in Alaska.
