More than 40 police officers were suddenly struck down with diarrhea and vomiting. The illnesses were suspected to be related to lunches prepared by an outside contractor. The lunches were delivered in the morning and were distributed later in the day. The lunches consisted of chicken sandwiches, chips, chocolate bar, and fruit. An implication was made that the lunches had not been stored properly to prevent microbial growth. The symptoms and incubation person of these illnesses were consistent with staphylococcal food poisoning.
