2010 Multistate Outbreak of Campylobacteriosis Linked to Raw Milk
An outbreak of Campylobacter jejuni occurred among people who consumed raw milk products obtained from the Family Farms Cooperative in Vandalia, Michigan. The Family Farms Cooperative operated a cow share program where members own part of a cow and in return received raw dairy products. The raw milk came from a Forest Grove Dairy in Indiana. Cow share programs are not inspected or regulated under Michigan law. These products were not available at retail stores. Cases were reported from Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.
