The Kenosha County Health Department closed the Baker Street Restaurant & Pub in Kenosha, Wisconsin after a Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak occurred. At the time that this outbreak was first detected, the health department could not pinpoint a cause. It was believed to be limited to this restaurant. In August it was discovered that the outbreak strain of Salmonella Enteritidis in this outbreak matched the strain of Salmonella Enteritidis isolated in case-patients in other outbreaks. A common link to nationally distributed eggs produced by Wright County eggs, an Iowa firm, was made.
