An outbreak of norovirus sickened approximately 80 residents and 50 employees of the Croasdale Village Retirement Community in Durham, North Carolina. Ill persons were quarantined. Access to the community was restricted. Communal activities such as meals and worship have been curtailed. The origin of the virus was not determined. The retirement facility housed approximately 630 residents and had 300 employees. It offered individual-living, assisted-living and skilled-nursing facilities.
