2010 Outbreak of Salmonella at Don Perico's Restaurant, California
The Kern County California Public Health Services Department closed Don Perico's Restaurant in Bakersfield after detecting an outbreak of salmonella. The restaurant remained closed until the investigation was completed. The outbreak was not associated with a concurrent, nationwide outbreak of salmonella linked to the consumption of contaminated eggs.
