2011 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Linked to White Valley Grain Fed Beef Liver, Canada
On August 10, 2011, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and White Veal Meat Packers (Est. 412) warned the public to avoid eating the company's grain fed veal liver because it may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. There had been reports of illness linked to the products, however, the number of illnesses was not given. The implicated veal had been sold in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec beginning in June, 2011.
