2012 Outbreak of Salmonella Thompson Infections Associated with Dutch Smoked Salmon, the Netherlands
An outbreak investigation of Salmonella Thompson infections linked to smoked salmon manufactured by Dutch company, Foppen Paling & Zalm, was initiated in September 2012. The Netherlands' National Institute of Public Health and the Environment said at least 950 people were sickened in the Netherlands. Three people died.
