2012 Outbreak of Campylobacter Infections Linked to Commercially Available Raw Milk, California
From January through April 30, 2012 the California Department of Public Health reported that at least 33 people with campylobacteriosis were identified in California. Ill patients reported consuming raw milk from two commercial dairies in California - Organic Pastures and Claravale Farm prior to illness onset. The median age was 14 years ( range, 9 months-66 years); 68% were male. One person was hospitalized. There were no deaths.
As a result of this outbreak both dairies issued quarantine and recall of their products.
