2013 Outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 Infections at Los Burritos Mexicanos Restaurant, Lombard, Illinois
In mid-June 2013 the DuPage County (Illinois) Health Department announced an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections occurring among customers of Los Burritos Mexicanos Restaurant located at 1015 E. Saint Charles Road in Lombard, Illinois. As of June 18 there were 9 case-patients confirmed with E. coli O157:H7 and 8 probable cases. Six of the 9 laboratory confirmed cases were hospitalized. The restaurant was closed while investigators conducted an investigation into the source.
