2014 Outbreak of Gastrointestinal Illness at An Office Holiday Party, Maitland, Florida
At least 55 people became ill on December 10, 2014 after an office party held at the Maitland Colonnades Office Building in Maitland, Florida. About 100 people attended the annual event. About 25 people were transported to hospitals in Orange and Seminole counties. Officials said a caterer provided the food around 12:30 pm. Illnesses began to occur around 2:30 pm. Food and clinical specimens tested positive for Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus.
