2014 Outbreak of Salmonella Thompson Infections Associated with a Church Event, Crawford County, Kansas

In August 2014 officials at the Crawford County Health Department and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Thompson infections among attendees of a meal served at a local church event on August 16. Thirty individuals attending the event reported illness. Six cases were laboratory confirmed with Salmonella Thompson. One person was hospitalized. There were no deaths. The vehicle of transmission could not be determined.
