2014 Outbreak of Shigellosis Linked to Salsarita's, Arkansas
In June 2014 public health investigators at the Benton County Health Department and the Arkansas Department of Health investigated and outbreak of Shigella infections that occurred at the Walmart Home Office cafeteria. Food prepared by a restaurant located in the employee cafeteria, Salsarita's, was the source of the outbreak. As many as 269 people were reported ill. Eleven people were hospitalized. No one died.
