2015 Outbreak of Campylobacter jejuni Infections at a Catered Event, Virginia
In April 2015 investigators at the Rappahannock Area Health District (RAHD) learned of an outbreak of Campylobacter infections associated with attending a catered event at a local fraternal order. Nineteen outbreak associated cases were identified. One person was hospitalized. Four people tested positive for Campylobacter. The environmental health inspection identified opportunities for cross contamination between raw chicken and ready-to-eat produce.
