2015 Outbreak of E. coli O157:NM Infections at the Red River Valley Fair, North Dakota
In July 2015 the North Dakota Department of Health investigated an outbreak of E. coli O157:NM in persons who attended the Red River Valley Fair held in West Fargo, North Dakota. The fair was held from July 7 through July 12. Sixty five cases were identified. Five people were hospitalized. No one died. One case developed Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. Epidemiological analysis of survey data did not yield any association with a specific exposure and becoming ill.
