2015 Salmonella Enteritidis Outbreak Linked to Boise Co-Op, Idaho
In June 2015 Idaho public health officials investigated an outbreak of Salmonella. A total of 275 people were diagnosed with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Enteritidis. Fifteen people were hospitalized. No one died. All ill patients had consumed food purchased at the Boise Co-Op located 888 W Fort Street in Boise. On June 15 the Co-Op voluntarily closed the deli while the investigation continued. Salmonella was isolated in onions, tomatoes and raw turkey sold in the store's deli section.
