2015 Outbreak of Staphylococcus aureus Infections at a Day Care, Alabama
Thirty children who attended Sunnyside Child Care Center in Montgomery were hospitalized after becoming ill with vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, cramps, and other symptoms. Illness occurred on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Children began to become ill at 3:00 pm. Lunch was served at 11:00 am. Foods served were bologna, chicken, and apples. Staphylococcus aureus was found in samples of food collected at the facility.
