2016 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Hadar Infections Linked to Live Poultry
In 2016 public health officials investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Hadar infections linked to contact with live poultry. A total of 86 people infected with the outbreak strain were reported from 29 states. Among people who reported the date they became ill, illnesses began between March 27, 2016 and August 28, 2016. Thirty people were hospitalized. No one died.
