2016 Outbreak of C. Perfringens, Monument, Colorado
In May 2016 public health officials in Colorado investigated an outbreak of Clostridium perfrinens among patrons of a restaurant located in Monument, Colorado. The implicated meal date was May 16. Eleven people reported symptoms. Two were laboratory confirmed with C. perfringens. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
Investigators suspected a menu item consisting of salad, rice and beans.
