On July 23, 2016 a large group of people attended a banquet in Aurora Colorado. Within one hour the first cases of illness was reported. In total 26 people became ill. The median incubation period was 8.8 hours (range, 1 hour to 19.8 hours). All 26 people reported diarrhea. There was no laboratory testing. No one was hospitalized and no one died. The suspected contaminated food was baked beans. Based on symptoms, incubation, duration, and suspected vehicle, public health officials theorized the outbreak was caused by Clostridium perfringens.
