Public health officials in Colorado investigated an outbreak of Clostridium perfringens occurring among 6 people who ate at a student sponsored event at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The implicated meal date was April 13, 2016. One person was laboratory confirmed with C. perfringens. All six reported diarrhea. The median incubation was 11 hours.

The food was prepared at Kathmandu, a sit down/buffet restaurant in Boulder. The food was catered to the Asian Unity Fair at UC-Boulder.

A sample of chicken Tikka Masala tested positive for C. perfringens at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Public Health Laboratory.
