2016 Salmonella Braenderup Outbreak Linked to Potato Salad, Iowa
In July 2016 Iowa Department of Public Health and Iowa County Public Health investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Braenderup linked to consumption of potato salad made by Big G food Store. There were 51 reported cases. Three ill persons were hospitalized. All 51 cases consumed Big G Traditional or Zesty Potato Salad. Investigators isolated the outbreak strain of Salmonella Braenderup in six samples of potato salad collected at the store.
