2017 Outbreak of Clostridium perfringens Infections at a Ramsey County Jail, Minnesota
In September 2017 St. Paul-Ramsey County Public Health and the Minnesota Department of Health investigated an outbreak of Clostridium perfringens infections among inmates at the local jail. State health officials tested sample trays of food served for lunch and dinner on September 8. Clostridium perfringens was found in a sample of tamale pie and in rice. One hundred thirty-seven inmates reported illness. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
