2017 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Infantis Infections Linked to Mangoes
In the summer of 2017 federal, state and local health officials investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Infantis infections. The suspected vehicle of transmission was mangoes. Forty eight outbreak associated cases were reported by 14 states. Reported and estimated illness onset dates ranged from June 30, 2017 to August 31, 2017. Among 42 cases with available information, there were 15 reported hospitalizations. No deaths were reported.
The cluster investigation was assigned CDC 1708MLJFX-1.
