Thirty six people became ill with symptoms consistent with Clostridium perfringens following a meal hosted on May 20, 2017 at a private residence. Food at the event was purchased from a local carniceria. All cases with symptoms reported eating the same food item. An environmental health inspection conducted at the carniceria found critical food safety violations. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
