2017 Outbreak of Bacillus cereus Infections Linked to Pinto Beans, Washington
In September 2017 a suspected outbreak of Bacillus cereus infections occurred at a restaurant in Pierce County, Washington. Improper slow cooling of pinto beans was implicated as the cause of the outbreak. Two people were ill. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
