In June 2017 eleven persons (8 laboratory confirmed) were infected with Campylobacter after eating at a food festival held in Connecticut. Only one food item - a marinated rib-eye beef stir-fry was significantly associated with illness (odds ratio: 4.91; confidence interval: 1.14-21.12). No festival food samples were available. Beef samples from the vendor who served the stir-fry were culture negative for Campylobacter. Inspection found inadequate food cold-holding temperatures. Campylobacter isolates from 4 case-patients stools yielded indistinguishable PFGE SmaI patterns.
