2017 Outbreak of Clostridium perfringens, Tacoma, Washington
In January 2017 Tacoma Pierce County Health Department officials investigated an outbreak of gastroenteritis in two patrons of a Mexican restaurant. The implicated meal date was January 30, 2017. Based on epidemiologic evidence, investigators theorized the outbreak was caused by Clostridium perfringens. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
