In April 2017 public health investigators in Adams County, Colorado investigated an outbreak of norovirus at a long term care facility located in Thornton. Nineteen people were ill. Eight were laboratory confirmed. No one was hospitalized and no one died. Investigators determined the outbreak was a point source outbreak through food contaminated by an ill food worker which later spread through person-to-person transmission.
