Two people from different households became ill with symptoms consistent with novovirus after eating raw oysters at an Issaquah, Washington restaurant. The implicated meal date was March 20, 2017. Two dining companions also became ill although based on their incubation period, their illnesses were likely secondary to the initial two ill cases. The oysters came from multiple growing areas in Washington state. One person visited the emergency department but was not hospitalized. No one died. No one submitted specimens for laboratory testing.
