2017 Outbreak of Rash Illnesses Associated with a Fitness Club Pool and Spa, Minnesota
Seven individuals, including 6 staff members and 1 patron developed red, itchy, rashes after swimming in pools at a fitness center in Edina, Minnesota. Rash onsets ranged from April 23 to May 7, 2017. Three cases visited a health care provider. No one was hospitalized and no one died.
Inspection of the facility showed the chemical levels at the 3 pools and spa were in compliance with the Minnesota Pool Code. No clear cause illness was identified.
