2017 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium at Clinical and Teaching Laboratories
The CDC and public health officials in several states identified a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium linked to various clinical, commercial, and teaching microbiology laboratories. Twenty nine people infected with the outbreak strain were reported from 18 states. Six ill persons were hospitalized. No deaths were reported. Among people for whom information was available, illnesses started on dates ranging from March 17, 2017 to June 27, 2017.
The outbreak was assigned CDC Cluster Code 1706MLJPX-1.
