In July 2017 Public Health Seattle King County (PHSKC) investigated reports of illness among 6 people from two separate dinner parties eating food at White Swan Public House located in Seattle. Ill persons consumed raw oysters. One group ate on June 30. The second group age on July 3. No laboratory testing was done. Symptoms were suggestive of vibriosis; however, there was no laboratory testing and norovirus could not be ruled out. An on-site investigation was conducted at White Swan Public House on July 6. No factors were identified that contributed to the spread of Vibrio. The oysters served at the meals were harvested from mutiple growing areas in Washington State and New Zealand. Without further information from ill persons on the the variety of oysters consumed. PHSKC was not able to pinpoint the particular growing area. No closures or recalls were issued.
