2017 Outbreak of Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Elliott's Oyster House, Seattle, Washington
Three people who ate raw oysters at Elliott's Oyster House on July 19, 2017 became ill with symptoms consistent with infection with Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The shortest incubation period was 15 hours. The longest incubation period was 24 hours. The median incubation was 19.5 hours. All three reported diarrhea. No one was hospitalized and no one died. The ill customers were unable to recall which varieties of oysters they consumed, thus preventing traceback to a specific growing area.
